Ok, so now I’m not going to the ‘dacks this weekend. I probably should have texted Scott (he wanted to hang out), but he reads this blog every day anyway so, Scott: I’ll be around this weekend. Give me a shout.
Yes, dear reader, this here’s one-a them multi-purpose websites. I wish it were a Lilu Dallas multi-purpose website, but then I’d be Milla Jovovich and I sure as hell wouldn’t spend my time writing to YOU – I’d pretty much just be having sex with myself all the time. Mmmm . . . Milla Jovovich.
Actually, if I were Milla Jovovich, I’d probably spend some time having steamy animal sex with Rachelle Leah (when not otherwise engaged with myself of course – though now that I’m thinking about it, that threesome sounds like what heaven is probably like).
Anyway, I went to Campmor yesterday to pick up the Gregory Palisade 80 pack I had my eye on, but when I put it on, I couldn’t get the straps to fit right. The only one they had left was a large (strap system), and I’m a medium. So I’ll probably order it online tonight or tomorrow. I’m going to research the Deuter AirContact 75+10 as well, because my winter pack is a Deuter and I’ve been very happy with it so far.
So rather than scramble to get my ass up into the ‘dacks to sleep in the rain (33 degrees at night) with my second-choice pack, I think I’ll hold off until next weekend when I have the gear I need. Which means I’ll need to find something to do with myself this weekend.
I spoke to my buddy SoloJoe (the one I was planning on meeting up with Saturday morning) earlier this evening: he’s done with the ‘dacks for this week. He bagged Mount Marcy and Mount Skylight yesterday, but got caught in some pretty gnarly conditions. Maybe I can get him to put a trip report together and guest-post here (he says he probably won’t post the report on the forum). It was a pretty good adventure.

On another note, I was talking with Brian this evening about the radio station to which I listen some evenings (when I’m not blasting Bach) – WBGO Jazz 88. I leave it on during the day for Laila Jo – she’s a total jazz kitten (my kind of girl).
The evening program (Evening Jazz – No, I have no idea where they get these names) is hosted by Awilda Rivera, and her manner of speaking really pisses me off. She’s English-Spanish bilingual, which is convenient because her program is mainly Latin Jazz, but when she pronounces Spanish names and words, it’s like she overdoes it. Which makes it sound like an affectation to me. I don’t get on well with affected people – I think they’re fake.
Anyway, my apologies, but I don’t have much of a rant in me. I like Latin Jazz, but there are times when I just can’t stand to hear the woman talk.
Check out WBGO if you have a chance – it’s a great radio station (88.3 FM, if you’re anywhere near Newark NJ – or listen to it online). They even have an iPhone app. I’d recommend avoiding the seasonal membership drives, though: they can be pretty annoying. Jazz 88 is entirely member-supported (well, I think they get grants as well), so there are no commercials. And the jazz is pretty darned swingin’. I’m a fan.
So yeah, that’s it for me (for now). Peace out, I’m going to surf the net for packs.
