Priorities List Update

I feel like I’ve been spending an inordinate amount of money lately.  Whatever.

I think.

So far, it’s pretty much all been in the name of getting done the things I planned.  So here’s an update on my Inventory & List of Priorities:

I bought an iPhone 3GS after work yesterday.  At the mall.  Willowbrook Mall, to be precise – which was, I’m sure, a better move than going to Garden State Plaza.  The Apple store wasn’t able to transfer my phone number to the new phone because I have a 202 area code and the system doesn’t like that area code in this local network (it’s from back when I lived in DC).  So I had to go to the AT&T store and have them do it.

But my list of contacts wasn’t imported to the iPhone when I switched services and, to make a long story short, I wasn’t able to do so myself via the regular methods.  I ended up having to make a circuituous trip this afternoon to various AT&T and Sprint locations before I found someone with the machine to get my address book out of my phone.  Why I couldn’t just save my address code to the old phone’s removable data card, I have no idea.  Very counterintuitive.  Especially given the fact that the old phone doesn’t have a SIM card.  Whatever; it’s done.

PS:  I also bought a new pair of jeans while I was at the mall – score one for impulse buys and cross that off the list.

Today I downloaded to the iPhone an app called Trails.  It’s a GPS mapping application; I think I may have mentioned it previously.  I think it will be exactly the right application for sharing my hiking excursions with you, dear reader.  Technically, I should be able to take pictures along the way and have them linked to the route and map that Trails creates for me.  Here’s my test run from this afternoon (the aforementioned circuituous route):

As you can see (or rather, not), I did something wrong, because the pics didn’t attach to the various waypoints I added during the trip.  Right now, I can use to share my trips via facebook, Twitter, and a handful of other social media sites.  WordPress is an option, but it appears to be only for, and this here’s a self-hosted site that just happens to run on WordPress.  Again, I’m hoping to find a plugin to cure my semi-woes.  I hope the above html embedment came out ok.

The only other app I’ve downloaded so far is facebook – I’m looking forward to taking and sharing more pics.

So that’s about it for me right now.  I’ve been crushed at work lately, which is an extremely good thing, as we’re coming up on raise/bonus/validate your employment time.  I’ve got to go check on my photo-emulsion and print out the transparency for the t-shirt I’m making for my buddy Ed.  Gosh it’s late.
