Done! The #starwars characters list for Twitter is finished. Look up and to the right under “#sw list”. I still have to put together the Ted’s Picks page, but I’m not going to do that tonight because I don’t want to miss anyone.
Happy Friday, normals; happy #followfriday, twitterers.
I said it the other day, but I can’t believe how quickly this week has passed. I’m hoping to get out hiking this Saturday with my friend Anthony, but I seem to recall hearing something about bits of a hurricane possibly passing through. We’ll see. It’s not Saturday yet.
Good news on the fiction addiction front: my copy of Princeps’ Fury by Jim Butcher just arrived. Hardcover – not currently available in any stores nearby, and the softcover isn’t due to be released until November (I think). It’s Butcher’s latest installment in the Codex Alera series, which I started after finishing everything (he’s written so far) in the Dresden Files series. I’ll put together a review of Codex Alera once I’ve finished Princeps’ Fury. It’s good enough so far to have kept me reading – and waiting (realtively) impatiently for the last book to arrive.
In the meantime, I finished off World War Z by Max Brooks and started reading The Zombie Survival Guide (same guy, duh). Reviews of both to follow shortly, but as a sneak-preview, I’ll tell you that I definitely give two thumbs up (in a Z formation) to the former, and maybe some pee on your hand for the latter. We’ll see – no use reviewing until the last page has been read.
I owe Didi about 3,000 words worth of emails. I can’t tell you how glad I am that she’s back to blogging. Just between you and me, dear reader, I was the delighted recipient of at least two blog posts from Didi while her blog was technically off the air. Someday I’ll be able to sell them for millions.
Speaking of selling for millions:
I bought like 30-something shares of a company called Jedi Mind today (JEDM on the pink sheets) for like nine cents apiece. At least, I think I did. It closed at a dime and I placed a limit order via my Scottrade account. Check out the website – it seems like an interesting company. This is definitely not something I put any thought or research into, by the way. Totally an impulse buy. But what the heck, if the technology actually does what it says it can do (and it catches on), we’ll be a few pretty big steps closer to being in the matrix.
