Day Off

by niceguyted on July 15, 2009 · 5 comments

I’m taking the day off from work today.  It feels good.  I think I’m going to do fuck-all nothing.  I have appointments at 8 (AM – ugh), 2, and 3:30, for an oil change, haircut, and a tune-up for my meat suit, respectively.  In between, I might go shopping for some incense.  Most likely, though, I’ll just sit around in the sun and read.

Maybe I’ll just say effit and buy a netbook too.  I’ve been eyeballing them for a while and the conclusion to which I’ve come is that it doesn’t matter all that much which one I get.  As long as I’m comfortable with the keyboard and it has a wi-fi built in, I really don’t think I’m savvy enough to know the difference among the other features.

Sure the new Acer model that’s supposed to be coming out in August looks nice – dual boot, windows and google’s Chrome OS, but that’s bound to be wicked expensive.  I figure I can get what I need for about four Franklins.

I’ll be mailing off my tally sheet to the Catskill 3500 Club, and probably my notice to the Adirondack 46ers that I’d like to join their club as well.  That’s going to be tough – some of those mountains are 4 hours away.

Check out my Peakbagger page if you’re interested in seeing the mountains I’ve climbed so far.  Here’s the front-runners list for the 3500 Club peaks as well – notice it says “Complete!” next to my name.  Pretty sweet.

I gotta tell you, dear reader, I’m a pretty happy camper overall.  Things have been good lately.  I’m sure that a big part of that is that I’ve been hiking lately.  I need the exercise – it levels out my brain chemistry.

So, apologies for the short post, but I’m beat and need to get up earlier than I do on a work-day.

Question for you, dear reader:  When I include links in these posts, they’re set up to open in a different window.  Is that cool or a pain in the ass?  Would you prefer that I set the links to open in the same window (you’ll jump from my page to wherever the link goes – not a separate tab, though)?

Oh, and before I forget (again) to put together an entire post, please click

and vote for @theMaraJade in this contest (click the + in her avatar).  It’ll piss the trekkies off.  I’ve been voting for @GeneralVeers and @Wilhuff_Tarkin as well, because they’re good tweeps too.

If there comes a time when your cyber-friends need assistance such as this, dear reader, please do not hesitate to call on me.  This may not be the most popular blog on the net, but my readers are loyal and active.  They’ll help you out when you need it.

Thank you – for past good deeds, and in anticipation of future ones.

YAY FOR DOING NOTHING!!! Napping/reading in the sun like a cat is bliss! Enjoy.

ok forgive me, feel free to point and laugh if you feel the need…. but what is a “tune up for my meat suit?”
First a few inapproiate things ran through my head… now I don’t know what to think.

I asked ted the same thing last night samantha. Tune up for the meat suit is a really cool way of saying he is going to the doctor for a check up.
