I feel like shit. It’s mostly just a sore throat, but I can feel it creeping up into my meninges, promising a wicked headache. I’m half glad that I’m getting sick when work isn’t in sight for three days, and half pissed that I won’t be able to get all the things done that I’d like to in the next three days.
Oh, I’ll make it to the catering job on Saturday all right – sickness or no.
I really wanted to hike Lone and Rocky mountains in the morning and thus complete the required climbs for the Catskill 3500 Club. Alas, it looks like that will have to wait for another day. There’s a good chance it’ll be raining all day anyway.
My cell phone is still out of commission. The Sprint Service Center couldn’t fix it, so they said they’d ordered a replacement for me – which should arrive Monday. None of the other service centers in the area had my phone in stock. I’m tempted to go to the Verizon store tomorrow and get myself one of those nice new Blackberry Curves, but I think I can last the weekend without a cell phone. And those thoughts give me the “cut off your nose to spite your face” thoughts.
From a quick review of the Verizon plan information, it looks like I’d probably have to go from spending seventy bucks a month to one hundred, if I switched to the Blackberry and signed up for internet access as well. Not to mention the early termination fee I’d have to pay Sprint – I have no idea how much that is, but I’d guess it would be about $200. Anybody know how much those things usually are?
Of course, if I signed up for the bby with internet access, I could probably figure out how to tether my laptop (or the netbook I’m considering purchasing) to the phone, instead of searching around for wi-fi hotspots.
Whatever. This is kind of more than I wanted to write right now anyway. I’m back to fictionland for an hour or so, then off to bed. Plenty of food and water – and, I think, sleep – for me in the next couple of days.
Peace out, homies.
