Such a cool way to express the living space with the unseen. I like it, a lot!

We had mice once in the apartment I currently live in, they too thought the mouse traps were funny. Although, now they have had the last laugh when I heard a tapclicktapclick noise coming from my bathroom back in Janurary 09' thinking to myself "those freakin mice, shut up!!!" Only tooo look down the hallway and see a very large FERRET!!

That's right, a ferret! Turned out to be the neighbours and had been coming into my apt via a very large hole under the baseboard in my spare room.

The mice, well, they are welcome anytime as long as they stay out of my cupboards. Ok who am I kidding, they are not welcome.

I love this post! I am the type of person who must LOVE my home environment, and have moved often when I haven't. (BTW, I have felt more settled in my last place than I have in years, and it is wonderful.) I love the description of the smell of your place...there is nothing quite like the aroma of warm, dusty attic. It makes me want to take a long, relaxing nap right now. In my office. Where I am NOT looking at the internets. Obviously.

I feel the same way about killing mice. Or felt. This past winter I had to ramp up to the death-causing mousetraps because my cat went on strike and the mice figured out how to escape my humane trap. And there was way too much mouse crap in my house to tolerate.

As you know I like to fuck with you. That said sometimes at night when I can't sleep I take a walk down to your humble abode and climb up on that little deck by your bedroom window and I make funny ghost like noisses. I also leave shredded scraps of colored paper in the corners of your kitchen and I collect mouse droppings to leave on your table.

Thanks, Carrie. I'm actually quite happy. Often alone, but rarely lonely. Bittersweet like good incense.

Oh, and we rock out to JS Bach as often as Metallica.

Ted,

I hope you are happy with this existence. It breaks my heart to hear of people being alone when they don't want to be. Your ghosts most likely disagree with the music; I'm sure it offends their sensibilities since they only know what they know and are but shades of the past.

Twitter and the internet in general is a great way to stay connected to the human race I think. Glad to meet you and thanks for the thoughtful blog post. =)

ps - Play your ghosts some Chopin or better yet, Frank Sinatra.
