Anyone up for Another eSocial Experiment?

A few weeks ago, Didi and I did an “eSocial Experiment” that worked out pretty well.  It was a lot of fun for both of us and our readers as well.  Though Didi and I know each other much better now, back then we only had vague impressions of one another via our blogs and Facebook profiles.  We each wrote about the other and coordinated our posts so that they were published at the same time.  Both were pretty accurate descriptions of the other.

I was discussing internet- and multiple-personalities with a fellow blogger yesterday afternoon.  We talked about how some of us are way out there with who we are in real life, and some of us prefer our anonymity.  Not to say that we “hide” behind our cyber-egos, but rather that we prefer to project an image of a character and maintain that character’s consistency and continuity.  Twitter is a good example of this.

I suppose I’m somewhere in the middle.  I regularly post the link to my Facebook profile on Twitter, and am not particularly shy about people finding out more about me (e.g. last name, hometown, etc.).  You can even find my LinkedIn profile on the Cyber-Ego page of this blog, though I’ve since removed the link to this blog from my LinkedIn profile.  Not entirely consistent, I know, but hopefully not entirely hypocritical either.  I have work and personal Twitter accounts – though to tell the truth, I hardly use the work-related one.

So what I’m wondering is if there’s anybody out there in the blogosphere, Twitterland, Facebook, MySpace, or any other social media network that would like to participate in another eSocial Experiment here at The Quixotic Jedi.

Do you have one personality at home, and another on the internet?  Do you, like me, have a regular and fairly mundane day job, but an exciting life on the internet during your off-hours?  Would you like to tell your story to the world?  Would you like to “out” yourself?

I think we’ll play this kind of like we did Rap Appreciation Week – only with fewer rules.  We’ll keep this wide open – all you need is more than one “you” on the internet.  Do you have separate usernames on Twitter for work and for play?  Then you qualify.  Do you have a Facebook or Myspace account for your personal life, and one for your business?  Do you have a couple of different blogs with different niches?  You qualify.  Do you have a couple of internet dating profiles – one for “just sex” and one for “a serious relationship”?  You qualify.  As Hutch said to Starsky “I’ll take anything.”

Shoot me an email in the next couple of days: QuixoticJedi[at]gmail[dot]com.  Tell me about your Cyber-Egos.  Anything you like.  This will become a blog post, so the more information you give me, the better.  If you’d like to stay anonymous, that’s fine, I won’t publish anything without your permission.  I’ll keep this open for about a week or so – this won’t be a contest per se, it’ll just be an opportunity for you to showcase yourself here on my 100-reader blog.

No perverts, please.  Perconoclasts are ok, but I can’t condone kiddy porn or anything of that nature.
