No Hike Today – Blackhead Tomorrow

January 31, 2009 · 4 comments

Scott and I won’t be hiking today.  We were up way too late last night.  Thanks to Sophia, Alli, Emily, Christine, Mike, Mark, Gino, and Brian for keeping us up.  Congratulations to those who know what I’m talking about.  And screw Zamalek Cafe for having too many people using their wireless router.

Tomorrow, we hike Blackhead:

Blackhead will be 29/39 for us, and our fourth (and final) winter-required peak.  The views of the Catskills from Blackhead are some of the most spectacular that we’ve seen.

The last 10 mountains that we have to hike to get into the Catskill 3500 Club will be ones we haven’t hiked before.  They are (in descending height order):  West Kill, Graham, Doubletop, Lone, Balsam Lake, Rusk, the Kaaterskill High Peak, Fir, Eagle, and Rocky.  I believe three of these have trails to the summits; the rest are bushwacks.

Don’t forget to check out the Hiking Page and the Hiking Photos post.  If you’re near a computer tomorrow between 8AM and 1PM EST, you can track our progress.

It would have to be a Vegan Bake Sale.
